What is a Nervous System Reset?

Combining somatic movements, grounding yoga poses, and soothing pranayama, you’ll reconnect with your inner stability.

Beginning with shaking, dynamic, and rhythmic somatic activating healing practices to drop into the body, then transitioning into restorative yoga to invite calm and stillness.

Each session concludes with guided meditation and reflective journaling to deepen integration.

About Sunaina

Sunaina Madhav Dasi (they/she) is a Tamil/Marathi nonbinary practitioner blending Bhakti Yoga, Tantric Buddhism, and Indian classical dance to offer movement as healing.

A queer, neurodivergent parent, they create spaces for embodiment and connection, honoring the wisdom of the body.

Rooted in their Guruji’s teachings, Sunaina is dedicated to making yoga accessible while preserving its cultural integrity, guiding others toward liberation through somatic healing and devotion.

What Can I Expect?

  • Establishing felt safety in the body.

    We begin by slowing down. Participants learn basic nervous system literacy and begin noticing sensation as information. Practices focus on grounding, orienting, and reconnecting to the body.

    Focus:

    • Sensory awareness

    • Gentle somatic movement

    • Breath awareness

    • Building internal safety cues

    Outcome:

    • Participants begin recognizing when they are activated and how to return to center.

  • Learning to shift states intentionally.

    The breath becomes our primary tool for influencing the nervous system. We explore long exhales, humming breath, and diaphragmatic breathing to support parasympathetic activation.

    Focus:

    • Extended exhale breathing

    • Humming / vibration practices

    • Breath + movement integration

    Outcome:

    • Participants leave with 2–3 practical breath tools for daily stress.

  • Interrupting tension patterns.

    This week introduces fluid, rhythmic, and intuitive movement to release accumulated stress energy from the body.

    Focus:

    • Somatic shaking

    • Gentle flow sequences

    • Hip and shoulder release

    • Freeform movement exploration

    Outcome:

    • Participants feel how movement can discharge stress and restore mobility.

  • Practicing intentional stillness.

    Rest is reframed as a skill. We explore restorative shapes, longer holds, and guided body scans to support deeper nervous system settling.

    Focus:

    • Restorative postures

    • Body scan meditation

    • Slowing transitions

    • Quiet integration

    Outcome:

    • Participants experience deliberate parasympathetic activation.

  • Building strength without overwhelm.

    This week blends stability and challenge in manageable doses to expand nervous system capacity.

    Focus:

    • Strength-based standing work

    • Balance postures

    • Core stability

    • Tracking activation + recovery

    Outcome:

    • Participants build confidence in meeting challenge without tipping into overwhelm.

  • Bringing it all together.

    We integrate grounding, breath, movement, rest, and reflection. Emphasis on connection and co-regulation within community.

    Focus:

    • Integrated flow

    • Partner or group awareness exercises (optional)

    • Loving-kindness meditation

    • Reflection and intention setting

    Outcome:

    • Participants leave with a personal regulation toolkit.
